[back to news]

The Irish Medical and Surgical Trade Association (IMSTA) awarded the Haemonetics BloodTrack® Blood Management and Bedside Transfusion Solutions and Accuscience the 'Best Improvement in Patient Safety Award' for 2016.

Accuscience is one of Ireland's leading laboratory, blood and medical device sales, marketing and distribution companies and is the exclusive Haemonetics BloodTrack distributor in Ireland.

About the Award

The annual awards event is a platform for the Irish supply industry to showcase the state-of-the-art medical technologies they bring to the market and demonstrate the valuable contribution the industry is making to healthcare in Ireland.

The award is relevant to the Electronic Blood Tracking System (EBTS) project (BloodTrack®) which is a modular blood management and bedside transfusion solution that combines software with hardware components to act as an extension of the hospital blood bank transfusion management system. This multi-phase, national initiative was started in 2012 and is scheduled to be fully installed across all 52 hospitals in Ireland.

"Congratulations to the entire Accuscience BloodTrack team for their commitment and dedication which secured this award."

 - Dara Murphy, EBTS Project Director and Finance & Operations Director of the Pharmed Group
