Haemonetics' Symphony Suite provides blood centers the optimum combination of functionality and flexibility with the ability to accommodate and anticipate increasingly stringent regulatory requirements while delivering an ongoing return on the blood center's information systems investment. The Symphony Suite has three modules: Prelude, Maestro and Interlude.

Prelude™ provides an automated self-administered donor interview which revolutionizes the blood donation process. Prelude is the perfect solution to automate and manage the blood donation process, and it is backed by Haemonetics' commitment to providing the highest degree of quality software in today's rapidly changing information technology environment. Prelude contains a Self-Administered Donor Interview that guides the donor through the health history process. This automated interview provides privacy at a personalized pace, increasing chances that the donor will return to donate again. In addition, Prelude supports multi-lingual and multiple interview questionnaires, enables a flexible workflow, and can capture the donors photograph and digitized signature - all in a paperless blood donation process.

Prelude performs a real-time donor eligibility check, records examination and phlebotomy results, and conducts quality assurance review via an online, highly articulated database, ensuring greater levels of data quality, integrity and completeness. The platform reduces errors by eliminating the problems of missing data and calculating acceptable physical examination ranges. For the staff of the blood center, Prelude provides access to Standard Operating Policies and Procedures, global maps, and tools to monitor the entire donor room.

Prelude performs the same functions on mobile blood drives as at fixed sites, including synchronization with the main server. Prelude communicates with host donor systems to download donor, donation and deferral information and uploads all the data collected from the donation. This eliminates the need for re-entry of donation records at the blood center, resulting in substantial savings of cost and time.

Interlude™ is a next generation component manufacturing, labeling, inventory, order entry and distribution system. Using the core functionality of its predecessor, we've applied a User Experience Design (UXD) methodology to create a more efficient and intuitive user interface Additionally, Interlude provides a customer controlled configuration tool, minimizing the need for vendor assistance and intervention.

Maestro™ will be the third module launched in the next generation Symphony Suite of products. Maestro combined with other Symphony modules, Prelude and Interlude, creates a complete next generation Donor Management System, which allows for a paperless total donor record management. Maestro is currently in development and not available for sale.

Maestro allows for total donor record management including automatic deferral logic, the ability to modify donation data, the ability to resolve false and merge duplicate donors, batch entry of donation forms, electronic cross-matching, and supports an external donor deferral list check. Reporting capabilities include duplicate donor report, and donor notification letters. Users will have the ability to create custom queries and reports from the database.

Symphony is US FDA 510(k) cleared and 21 CFR Part 11 compliant. It is a centralized, web-deployed system using flexible database technology from industry leaders.
