Research and Educational Grants

Home Masthead Sample

Through our Research Grants program, Haemonetics provides grants to support original, independent, investigator-initiated research aimed at advancing science and clinical care. The company reviews unsolicited requests for research support, which may include in-kind or financial support.

Areas of innovative research interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Personalized treatment algorithms for high bleeding risk conditions using Thromboelastography technology, such as in cardiovascular surgery and trauma.
  • Tailored thromboprophylaxis (i.e., antiplatelet and anticoagulant therapies) in cardiovascular patients undergoing interventions (e.g., Peripheral Artery Disease, Coronary Artery Disease, Atrial fibrillation).
  • Coagulation profiles and clinical outcomes in patient populations at increased risk for thrombotic complications (e.g., patients with preexisting comorbidities including heart disease, atrial fibrillation, cerebrovascular diseases, hypertension, and/or personal history of thrombosis).
  • Clinical workflow, outcome, and/or health-economic benefits of:
    • Device assisted vascular closure technology involving VASCADE, VASCADE MVP and VASCADE MVP XL
    • Sensor guided wire technology including SavvyWire or OptoWire for specialized interventional cardiology and electrophysiology procedures

Review Criteria

Decisions are based upon a research proposal’s scientific merit, clinical significance, feasibility and likelihood of success given the Principal Investigator’s track record and research environment, as well as alignment with Haemonetics’ areas of research interest and availability of resources.
